The RIBA Plan of Work has been the definitive UK model for the building design and construction

process, also exercising significant influence on an international stage.

The RIBA plan of work provides a shared framework for the organisation and management of building projects that is widely used as both a process map and a management tool, and provides important work stage reference points used in a multitude of contractual and appointment documents and best practice guidance.

Its is important to use the RIBA plan of work as a structure to the project that you are working with/running as it mantains a consistant structure in all areas of the project. This helps to eliminate or minimise errors that may occur and also maintains that less grey areas evolve throughtout the project that the multiple of people involved in the project are unaware of.
